Mixed Berry Slump

To make myself feel better about this morning's fall, I made a Mixed Berry Slump tonight for dessert. It was delicious, just what the doctor ordered! I love making recipes when I already have all the ingredients at home!

Thank you jenna knows best. I don't know you, but I really love your recipe!

Is Clumsiness a Pregnancy Symptom?

I have been reading that being clumsy is a common symptom of pregnancy.  Pregnant or not, my dear friends and husband will vouch that I have a tendency to fall for no apparent reason.  This morning was no exception.  While heading to the bus I stepped into a patch of broken asphalt and down I went.  My heel got stuck and I landed square on my left knee... ouch!!  I'm ok, the damage is minimal, but limping in stilettos all day was not hot.  At least I didn't rip one of my last pairs of work slacks that still fit!

Here is the culprit.  Doesn't it look dangerous?

At least this time I can blame my fall on pregnancy!

Womb Mates

I received the cutest t-shirt in the mail last night.  Thank you Kenz!  I can't wait for my belly to be big enough to wear it!

RE: Breaking the News

First off, apparently my name is "R" for the purpose of this blog. Maybe I will refer to Alysen as "the Incubator" or "Twin Factory" or something.

Anyhow, YES, Alysen's face was priceless! Unfortunately taking a picture of it would have led to divorce on account of her being in a paper dress on the exam table. It took the doctor and I a good 3 minutes to convince her we weren't joking. She was still in shock as we were driving home, making it a pretty scary drive as she was behind the wheel.

I, on the other hand, was elated at the news of twins! I had been harassing Twin Factory ever since we found out she was pregnant with lines like, "How are the twins?" or "How are my babies doing?" She even said to me, "I can't wait until this ultrasound so you can stop talking about [profanity] twins."

I guess I can say this now.... IN YOUR FACE! I was right about the twins!

Breaking the News

Almost 4 weeks ago we had our first real doctor’s appointment since receiving the positive pregnancy news, which included our first ultrasound.  It was week 9 and we were beyond excited! Little did we know that we would find out that same evening that our bundle of joy is actually bundles of joy! Here is our first ultrasound photo.

R says he would pay anything to have a photo of the look on my face when the doctor told us we had twins.  My face apparently dropped and went white!  I honestly did freak out a bit the next few days.  Being such a planner, I thought how in the world am I going to prepare for this, especially in our two bedroom condo with two sports cars.  All is well in the world now and we couldn't be happier!

The most fun has been watching/hearing the reaction from our family and friends.  Everyone is extremely happy for us, but there have been dropped jaws, OMGs and a few holy $h!ts!  The best was my mom and sister didn't believe us.  They thought I was playing a trick on them and that R photo shopped the ultrasound photo.  Now does that sound like something we would do?!?
