Labor Day Weekend

Labor Day weekend ended up being both busy and a lot of fun. We started to really prepare for the twins with multiple trips to Babies R Us, Target and PB Kids and hours of on-line research on bottles, strollers, car seats, etc. We measured our bedrooms and came up with a plan for furniture rearrangement (yes, I dorked out and drew everything "to scale"). But, the true highlight of the weekend was a last minute get together with two of my oldest and greatest friends, Christy and Priscilla and their wonderful families!

Rick and I woke early Sunday morning to prep for their visit, i.e. cleaning, baby proofing, and cooking (well, Rick got up at 3am to start his fantastic pulled pork in the slow cooker!). Everyone arrived at 1pm and for the next 8 hours we talked, ate, drank, watched football, passed baby AJ around, ate more, swam at our pool, sat in the hot tub, ate and drank some more and ended the evening with one round of Hand and Foot (our favorite card game!).

Here are some fun photos from the day:

Football Time!

The Girls - Christy, Priscilla and I (after pool time, hence the terrible hair and make-up!)

Focused on playing cards - Priscilla won.
And no, I did not take this photo to sneak a peak at P's hand!

Our Twins

AJ is the happiest little guy and Tyler and Nicole are incredibly well behaved. The Weiland twins have a lot to live up to!
